Lion
Widely distributed across the Northern and Southern Circuits, with particularly high density around the Serengeti's Seronera region and Ngorongoro Crater floor.
Leopard
More elusive by nature, generally best spotted in riverine woodland areas of the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ruaha, often resting in trees during the day.
Elephant
Reliable large herds in Tarangire and Ruaha in particular, alongside strong populations across most other parks.
Buffalo
Widespread across all circuits, often in large herds on the Serengeti plains and around Ngorongoro.
Rhino
The rarest of the five to see in Tanzania; Ngorongoro Crater holds one of the country's few viable black rhino populations, and even there, sightings are not guaranteed on any given day.
